Mangaluru: The Karnataka government has officially transferred the investigation into the shocking Dharmasthala serial murder allegations to a Special Investigation Team (SIT), following explosive media reports and a formal request from the Karnataka State Women’s Commission.

Three men are reported to have been arrested by Kasaragod Town Police under charge of illegal transport of liquor in a mini truck and up to 1,645 litres of liquor have been confiscated from them.

Mangaluru: The "Dharmasthala mass burial allegations" began almost a month ago, specifically on June 22, 2025. The issue started when a letter, circulated on social media in the names of advocates Ojaswi Gowda and Sachin Deshpande, stated that an individual claimed to have buried hundreds of bodies to cover up numerous murders, rapes, and killings of women that occurred in Dharmasthala.

Mangaluru: A team from the Dakshina Kannada District Health Department conducted raids on four private clinics, three in Mangaluru and one in Deralakatte, on Saturday for operating in violation of regulatory norms.

Actor and activist Prakash Raj has issued a strong public appeal to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, calling for the immediate formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the explosive allegations surrounding the Dharmasthala case. His statement comes in response to the Chief Minister’s assurance that legal action will follow a police investigation.

Mangaluru (Karnataka): A man involved in multiple financial fraud cases involving hundreds of crores was arrested here, police said on Friday.

 A complaint has been submitted by a senior citizen, Sujatha Bhat, mother of Ananya Bhat, a medical student who went missing over two decades ago, raising allegations of misconduct and breach of confidentiality by the investigating officer in the Dharmasthala Mass Burial case.
