The political scene in the Channapatna Assembly constituency is heating up ahead of the by-election, with strong indications that former minister C.P. Yogeshwar, a BJP ticket aspirant, may join the Congress.

Four more bodies were recovered during the search and rescue operation after an under-construction building collapsed in Babusapalya here, police said on Wednesday.

"A survey will be conducted across the city to identify illegal buildings. I will instruct the Revenue Department not to register properties that do not comply with building regulations. People buy land at a low cost and sell it without proper planning. The RERA Act is in place to prevent such illegal activities," said Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
