A day after surprising the Prime Minister with a hug, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said he would tackle Narendra Modi's "hate and fear" with love and compassion.

In yet another incident of militants targeting policemen and other personnel of the security forces, a trainee police constable was abducted from his home in south Kashmir's Kupwara district on Friday, the police said.

A man was beaten to death at Alwar in Rajasthan on Friday night by villagers on suspicion of cow smuggling. The police have identified the man as Akbar Khan.

Villagers in Ramgarh, caught the two men who were transporting cows on foot. The two were brutally beaten up and one of them died on the spot.
