Lorry owners responsible for transporting goods from the New Mangalore Port have declared their intention to initiate a strike beginning on Friday, September 29. Their demands include an increase in lorry rental rates, among other requests.

In a sea rescue operation, a fisherman named Vasanth was saved by the Indian Coast Guard after falling seriously ill while fishing 36 nautical miles offshore. Vasanth was admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore for medical treatment following the Coast Guard's response.
