The Dakshina Kannada District Congress Minority Unit has called for an urgent meeting on May 29 at 2:30 pm at the Bolara Shadi Mahal auditorium in Mangaluru to discuss the growing concern over rising incidents of violence against Muslims in the region.

A case has been registered against 15 individuals, including Deepak and Sumit, in connection with the murder of Abdul Rahiman (32), secretary of Koltmajalu Juma Masjid and a pickup driver, and the attempted murder of Kalandar Shafi. The incident took place near Ira Kodi in Kuriyal village of Bantwal taluk.

The court on Tuesday night granted bail to Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Sharan Pumpwell and adjourned the hearing of his plea to Wednesday.
