A delegation from the World Federation of Bunt Association on Monday extended an invitation to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to participate in the upcoming World Bunts Conference, scheduled to take place on the 28th and 29th of September at Ajjarakadu Grounds, Udupi. The President of the World Federation of Bunt Association, Aikala Harish Shetty, formally presented the invitation to the Chief Minister on behalf of the Association.

A youth from Bagalkote drowned in the sea while two of his friends who were also washed away by giant tidal waves, were rescued at Mallamar beach near here, police said.

 The Sulya Police on Sunday arrested a suspect in connection with a recent bike theft case. The arrested individual has been identified as Subramani (26), he was a resident of Basavanahalli in Somwarpet, Kodagu.

A case involving illegal sand collection has been registered by Dharmasthala Police, following an investigation prompted by complaints from Bandaru Gram Panchayat members and officials from the Department of Mines and Geology in Mangaluru.
