Doorstep voting commenced in Dakshina Kannada constituency for the Lok Sabha elections, with 8,010 senior citizens and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) exercising their right to vote over a three-day period.

In an incident in Bolar, Mangaluru, a discussion on a political issue turned violent, resulting in the stabbing of Edwin Vinay Kumar (65), the owner of Kanti Hair Dresses. The accused, identified as Ananda Sapalya (49) from Barimara in Bantwal taluk, allegedly stabbed Edwin in the chest and fled the scene.
