Senior folk scholar Dr. Palthadi Ramakrishna Achar passes away

Dr. Palthadi Ramakrishna Achar, a prominent figure in folk studies and former president of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Akademi, breathed his last on Tuesday night. The 79-year-old scholar passed away at his daughter's residence in Peruvaje, Sulya taluk, after his health deteriorated on Tuesday evening. Despite efforts to transport him to the city hospital, he succumbed en route.

Dead body found in Buntara Bhavan premises, BC Road: Police investigation underway

The dead body of an individual was found within the confines of Buntara Bhavan near BC Road - Talapady, early in the morning today. Identified as Santosh, a resident of Uppinangady Valalu, the deceased was discovered amidst a pool of blood within the premises. Notably, Santosh's motorcycle was located outside the compound.
