The first case of lumpy skin disease in local cattle was detected in Bhatkal on Saturday, although veterinary officer Dr Shivakumar has assured that there is no reason to panic.

Kasargod: In an accident that took place on Saturday, 20 people sustained injuries when a private bus en-route to Bengaluru collided with a truck near the Uppala Gate late Friday night. 

Kasaragod: At least 30 people were injured on Friday when a temporary tent put up as part of an ongoing science fair collapsed at a school near here, police said.

Karwar: IAS Officer Mullai Muhilan, Deputy Commissioner of Uttara Kannada District was on Friday transferred with immediate effect. He will now take charge as the Commissioner of Youth Empowerment and Sports Department, State Youth Centre in Bengaluru.

Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada Dr. KV Rajendra was on Friday transferred from his existing post through a state government order. The officer has been transferred as the Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru district.
