I-T dept raids residences, hospitals of Mangaluru based two prominent businessmen

Mangaluru: On Wednesday, six separate teams of I-T sleuths in Mangaluru raided the homes, hospitals, and offices of two 'prominent' businessmen at dawn.

Court orders petrol bunk to pay Rs. 15 lakh compensation to consumer for mixing water in petrol

Karwar: Local consumer court on Friday ordered a petrol bunk owner to pay a compensation of Rs. 15, 13,475 after it ruled in the favor of complainant who had alleged that the petrol bunk owners had scammed consumers by mixing water in fuel in 2018.

 

Mangaluru: 3-day-old baby operated at A J Hospital for rare congenital heart disease

(Press Release)  A 3 days old baby of Padma (name changed) was referred to A J Hospital, Mangalore with complaints of bluish discoloration of lips and fingertips along with poor feeding and lethargy.  She was evaluated by Dr. Prem Alva, Interventional Pediatric Cardiologist.  Baby had low oxygen level of 58%.  Diagnosed to have the heart on the right side of the chest.  The blood vessel arising from the heart to the lungs was totally blocked, this condition is called pulmonary atresia.  Baby also had a large hole in the heart.

 In an incident that was reported on Wednesday, two young men have been charged under the POCSO Act at the Vitla Police Station with charges of raping a girl, possessing nude photos of the victim which they allegedly used to further threaten her.
