The Supreme Court on Wednesday declined to hear a petition challenging a sweeping gag order that restrained media houses from reporting on matters related to the brother of Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade of Dharmsthala in Karnataka.

The Karnataka Director General of Police, Dr. M.A. Saleem, has issued an order appointing additional officers and personnel to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to probe the alleged crimes reported under the jurisdiction of the Dharmasthala Police Station.
