ACB sleuths raids Udupi RTO office; arrests two while accepting bribe

Udupi: Deputy Transport Commissioner and District Senior Regional Transport Officer RM Gupta was on Saturday afternoon arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Udupi. He was arrested along with another person for allegedly asking bribe from a client for clearing his taxes of car that was burnt in Bengaluru air show last month.

 


Fire on research ship off Mangaluru coast; 30 crew members, 16 scientists rescued

A fire broke out on a marine research vessel off Karnataka's New Mangalore coast, following which 30 crew members and 16 scientists were rescued by the coast guard, an official said Saturday.
