Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada BJP candidate and sitting MP Nalin Kumar Kateel registered a thumping victory by defeating Congress candidate Mithun Rai by a margin of over 2.69 lakh votes.

Counting of votes: Prohibition orders clamped in DK district

Mangaluru: In a bid to maintain the law and order in the district, and to allow the smooth functioning of vote counting, prohibitory orders will be clamped in the district from 5 PM on May 23 to 5 PM on May 24, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner and Election Officer Sasikant Senthil has issued the order.
