Police get Shiroor Swamiji’s postmortem report

The postmortem report of Lakshmivara Tirtha Swamiji of Shiroor Mutt reached the police on Monday. But keeping pending the opinion for the reason for the death, it was mentioned about the report of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).

Theft is reported at Basrur Mahalingeshwara Temple on Sunday night. Silver masks of Durgaparameshwari Devi and Ganesh have been stolen from the temple.

Club owner murder at Manipal: Three held

Miscreants stabbed the owner of Seventh RC club at Zepta Lang building on Manipal-Perampalli road to death at Manipal on Sunday at 1pm.

The victim was identified as Guruprasad Bhat (44), son of late Sridhar Bhat of Subramanya Nagar in Puttur. In a lightning operation, the police arrested three accused at Kandlur check-post in related to the incident.

A person from Kokkada in Belthangady was arrested by police in Gauri Lankesh murder case, here on Sunday, sources said. But the police have not yet confirmed the arrest.

Manipal: Businessman stabbed to death at club

A group of miscreants barged into a club near Manipal and stabbed a businessman to death on Sunday.

The victim is identified as Guruprasad Bhat of Puttur. When Guruprasad Bhat was in the club, the miscreants came in a car, entered the club and stabbed him. Later, the miscreants fled the scene in the same car. Though Guruprasad Bhat who sustained severe injuries, admitted to the Manipal hospital, he breathed his last.
