Dharmasthala Police have arrested a man who had been absconding for 10 years without appearing before court for hearing in a case filed against him.

Following the tragic gas leak incident at Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) that claimed two lives and left one worker critically injured, Dakshina Kannada Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Dr. Santosh Kumar visited the accident site on Saturday on behalf of the district administration.

 A skeleton, allegedly buried as mentioned in the complaint related to the Dharmasthala mass burials case, has been exhumed and handed over to the Belthangady police.

An official enquiry has been initiated against individuals responsible for allegedly leaking the identity of the Dharmasthala mass burials case complainant witness, read a release from Dr. Arun K., Superintendent of Police, Dakshina Kannada district.

Belthangady: The man who recently made sensational claims of having buried multiple dead bodies in Dharmasthala has now recorded his official statement before the Belthangady court. According to sources, he appeared before the judge and provided a detailed deposition that reportedly lasted around 1 hour and 20 minutes.
