Bengaluru: Karnataka Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar on Wednesday expressed satisfaction over his actions during the political turmoil in the state over the last few weeks ever since several MLAs of ruling coalition government resigned from the assembly.

Bengaluru: BJP State President BS Yeedyurappa is reportedly bracing up to become the next Chief Minister of the state as his party is all set to claim stakes on formation of the government after the coalition government collapsed following defeat in the confidence motion on Tuesday evening.

 Two Karnataka Independent MLAs on Wednesday urged the Supreme Court to allow them to withdraw their plea seeking its direction to the state assembly Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar to conduct "forthwith" floor test on a trust motion moved by the H D Kumaraswamy government.

As the BJP is expected to stake claim to form the next government in Karnataka, its legislature party meeting would be held on Wednesday.

 Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the MLAs who have betrayed the party and embraced the BJP would not be inducted back into the party again.
