Bengaluru auto driver denies slapping woman passenger, expresses regret

Autorickshaw driver Mutturaj R, aged 47, was arrested by the Magadi Road police for allegedly slapping a woman passenger after she canceled her ride. He was released on bail six days later and has expressed regret and shame for his behavior, although he denied the assault allegations.

 


Siddaramaiah receives book on Prophet Muhammad from JIH as part of Seerat Campaign

September 12, 2024 – As part of the ongoing Seerat campaign, Akbar Ali Udupi, the State Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today at Kaveri Bhavan, Bengaluru, to present him with the latest publication titled "Collection of Writings on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)". Karnataka reports increase in murders by spouses, lovers

In a concerning trend, Karnataka has witnessed 161 killings by spouses or lovers in the first eight months of 2024. Among these, 138 involved married couples, while 23 were cases of lovers turning on each other. One such incident occurred last month when Kiran, a cab driver, allegedly killed his wife Navyashree, a choreographer, due to suspicions of infidelity.
