Bengaluru: BJP state president and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra criticized the Congress-led Karnataka government for its handling of the Ballari maternal death tragedy, which resulted in the deaths of seven pregnant women and a child at the Ballari Government Medical College Hospital.

Bengaluru: Days after a decomposed body of a woman was found in a drain in the outskirts of the city, the police have arrested her husband from Bihar for allegedly killing her, officials said on Friday.

Another maternal death has been reported at the Ballari Medical College and Research Centre (BMCRC), bringing the total number of such fatalities in the past month to five.
