Bengaluru: Dengue cases in Karnataka have crossed the 10,000 mark so far this year, said the state Health Department on Tuesday.

Bengaluru: MLC Ivan D’Souza has urged the Karnataka Education Ministry to include Konkani as an accepted mother tongue for candidates appearing for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET). The appeal was made during a session of the Karnataka Legislative Council, where D’Souza highlighted the case of a student from Kasaragod who was denied admission due to her mother tongue being Konkani.

Two die in lorry-scooter collision in Madikeri

Madikeri: Two young men died on the spot after a two-wheeler they were traveling in collided with a lorry near Maruthi Nagar between Kodagarahalli and Hoskote on National Highway 275. The accident took place at around 2.30 pm on Tuesday.

Shivamogga: Continuous heavy rains across Shivamogga have caused the Tunga River to overflow, breaching the danger level on Tuesday. The relentless downpour in Agumbe and Thirthahalli areas has increased the inflow of water to the Tunga dam. With the dam already at its highest capacity, the excess water is being steadily released into the river, resulting in a significant rise in the water level.

Landslide in Ankola: Seven dead, including five from one family

A tragic incident occurred near Shirur in Ankola taluk where a landslide resulted in the deaths of seven people, including five members of a single family.
