Udupi: Accused in hit-and-run case arrested

Udupi (Karnataka): Police on Sunday said that they have arrested an accused in connection with the hit- and-run incident that led to the death of an auto driver at Belapu military colony of Kapu taluk on November 13.

 


Puttur: Dead body of worker who died during work left on road in front of house

An inhumane incident has been reported in Puttur, where the body of a worker who died during work was transported in a pickup vehicle and left on the road in front of his house. Dalit organisations held a protest in front of the Puttur City Police Station today condemning the incident.

Puttur court sentences man to three years imprisonment for harassing minor girl

Puttur: The Puttur 5th District Additional and Sessions Court has sentenced Muhammad Musthafa, also known as Musthafa Sheikh, a resident of Vidyapura in Kabaka village, to three years of imprisonment along with a fine of ₹20,000 under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The court delivered the verdict on Wednesday in connection with a nine-year-old case involving the harassment of a minor girl.
