Mangaluru: The National Green Tribunal (South Zone) has ordered a stay on the Nethravathi waterfront project of the Mangaluru Smart City Limited (MSCL) till the next hearing of the suo motu case against the project, which it had filed following intense objection raised by environmentalists and concerned citizens.

Six people accused of planning to a robbery and also traveling in a car carrying deadly weapons were arrested by the Kapu Police on Saturday evening at Kothalakatte near here.

Another charge sheet has been lodged against Belthangady MLA Harish Poonja in the Bengaluru People's Representatives Court, alongside 17 other individuals, including Vidhan Parishad member Pratap Simha Naik.

Three individuals, including a minor, have been arrested by Belthangady Police in connection with the gang rape of a minor girl, which resulted in her pregnancy. The case, reported on May 31, led to charges under the Gang Rape and POCSO Act at the Belthangady Police Station.
