Kasargod DC declares holiday for schools amidst likely heavy rain, Orange alert on July 4

Kasaragod: District Collector Inbasekar K on Monday, July 3 declared holidays for all schools, Anganwadis and Madrasas across the district in the wake of heavy rainfall that has gripped the region since Monday afternoon and is likely to continue on Tuesday.

Mangaluru: In light of the ongoing heavy rainfall in the Dakshina Kannada (DK) district, Tahsildars, who are revenue officers in charge of taluks, have been granted the authority to declare holidays for local schools and colleges as a precautionary measure. The decision was announced by District Collector Mullai Muhilan, who emphasized the need for proactive measures to ensure the safety of students and staff during inclement weather conditions.
