Heads of various mutts in Dakshina Kannada district have strongly opposed the decision of the Karnataka government to repeal anti-conversion law and the cow slaughter prevention Act.

Mangaluru city police have arrested a married man in Dakshina Kannada district on the charges of cheating a young woman after having physical relationship with her by promising to marry her.

Two persons who were attempting to sell narcotic drugs at a public place near Chaturmukha Basadi in Karkala taluk in Udupi district were arrested, police said.

A 48-year old man was seriously injured in an attack by a leopard near Nittur check post early Thursday, police sources said.
