Coast Guard rescues stranded fishermen off Malpe coast

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) rescued 11 fishermen from a fishing boat stranded at sea, 35 nautical miles off the coast, due to strong winds and swell and ensured that the boat and the fishermen reached Malpe fishing harbour safely.

In an incident that occurred in Bantwal Taluk’s Adyanadka, a young female doctor reportedly drowned in a lake in the premises of the Varanasi farmhouse.

Sullia court has issued a warrant against KPCC President D. K. Shivakumar for not complying with previous summons orders related to a case that was made against the Congress leader when he was the Energy Minister. During his tenure as the Minister for Energy DK Shivakumar had gotten into a conflict with a man from Ballary, who had contacted him regarding energy-related issues. He had been issued several summonses related to the case but the Congress leader had been a no-show, it is learned.

Mangaluru: Nipah virus test of youth return negative

The District Health and Family Welfare Department’s official Dr. Kishor Kumar informed that the test reports of the Karwar based youth who had undergone medical tests to determine if he has Nipah, had come out negative. Earlier, the young microbiologist who worked in a lab in Goa creating RT PCR test kits, had voluntarily opted to test for the Nipah virus.
