Mangaluru: Premanand Shetty elected New Mayor of Mangaluru City Corporation

In the Mangaluru City Corporation’s 22nd Mayoral selection, Premanand Shetty from the Mangaladevi ward was chosen as the new Mayor and Sumangala Rao from the Kunjathbail ward was chosen as the Deputy Mayor on Tuesday.

 Jukaku Abdurraheem (82), a renowned figure in the social, religious and educational circles of Bhatkal  and the former President of the prestigious  organization Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen passed away in Los Angeles, California, around 8 am IST on Monday. He is the son of ex-Minister D. Jukaku Shamsuddeen.  

IDS students visit Hasta Shilpa Heritage Village

Mangaluru: The Indian Design School had organised a heritage tour for their students at the Hasta Shilpa Heritage Village Museum in Manipal on 25th February 2021 as part of their academic workshop for understanding the vernacular architecture and traditional interiors of South Canara.
