Coast Guard rescues six-member crew of dhow that sank mid-sea off Mangaluru

Mangaluru: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Saturday rescued six crew members of MSV-Safina-Al-Mirzal, which sank around 30 nautical miles west of coast of Kasaragod in Kerala.

Three grievously injured in road accident at Kadaba

Three individuals sustained grievous injuries in a road accident that occurred at Kanchana near Uppinangady on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway on Saturday.

Kasaragod: Including two children, three members of one family found dead

Three members of a family, including two children, were reportedly found dead at Cheruvathur. The deceased have been identified as Pilikodu Madivayi’s auto-rickshaw driver Rupesh (37), and his two children Vaidehi (10), Shivanand (6). Their bodies were recovered from the corner of under-construction home. 

Asphalting of road done excluding parked car area

During the asphalting of the Vitla main road in Bantwal Taluk, an area of the road where a car was parked was left untouched while the rest of the road stretch was covered on Wednesday.

Mudradi: Running car catches fire; driver escapes unhurt

In an incident that occurred early Tuesday morning, a moving car suddenly caught fire and completely burned down on the Someshwar road which falls under the Mudradi Gram Panchayat jurisdiction. Reportedly, the sole passenger in the car escaped the vehicle unhurt.

Son who went to bring flowers for father's funeral dies in road accident in Sirsi

In a heart-wrenching incident that occurred on Monday, a young man who had gone to the marketplace to bring flowers for the funeral rites of his father who had passed away in the morning, also died in a road accident near the SBI Circle at Sirsi. It is learned that another youngster accompanying him has also died in the accident.
