Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada District In-Charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary has gone under home quarantine at his residence at Kota in Udupi District.

Mangaluru: Mangaluru MLA U T Khader has gone under self-quarantine after his Congress party colleague and former MLC Ivan D'Souza tested positive for COVID-19.

Mangaluru: 10 more patients in Dakshina Kannada died of Coronavirus on Sunday. The district also reported 163 new cases of the deadly virus in the last 24 hours. This is the first instance where the single-day toll of the deaths in the district has gone past two digits.

Bhatkal: Residents in Bhatkal are left shocked and outraged after their electricity bills have reportedly inflated significantly during the Coronavirus lockdown. Supported by an independent study, a local organization 'Speech Foundation’ in Bhatkal recently evening organized a virtual press conference to detail their claims.

Udupi: Udupi District on Sunday reported 182 fresh cases of Coronavirus taking the total number of cases in the district to 4647. The information was shared by the Health and Family Welfare Officer of the district Dr. Sudhirchandra.

Mangaluru: Six more people in Dakshina Kannada died due to Coronavirus on Saturday, taking the total number of fatalities in the district to 159. The district also reported 139 new cases of the virus in the last 24 hours.

Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada District Administration on Saturday confirmed that there will be no Sunday lockdown in the District on August 2. The confirmation came on the back of the guidelines issued by the State government de-notifying the Sunday lockdowns across the state.

Udupi: An ‘Orange Alert’ has been issued in Udupi District for five days following the prediction of heavy rain in the district by the Meteorological Department and Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Center.
