District Administration ready to provide adequate supply of food items during lockdown: DK DC

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh on Wednesday assured people of the District that the administration had taken measures to ensure supply of essential goods including rice, vegetable and fruits across the District during the lockdown and asserted that there was no need for the people to panic buy goods.

In the wake of spread of Coronavirus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday evening announced a 21-day country-wide lockdown. Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel on Wednesday afternoon added that the District will go under complete lockdown from Thursday and that no shops or market will be open.

Kasargod: Six cases of coronavirus confirmed today

As many as six coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the district on Tuesday as well. Following which, the number of infected people in the district has increased to 44. Of the 16 positive cases that came up today, six belong to Kasargod.
