Udupi: Five new cases of Corona Virus were reported in Udupi District on Saturday, as informed by the Udupi District Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh here.

Bantwal: Bantwal Town Police on Friday has registered case against 30 people for allegedly gathering and holding a protest in the sealed down zone, here.

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Sindhu B Rupesh, on Friday evening announced that the District will completely be sealed down from Saturday evening to Monday morning in the wake of spread of Corona Virus.

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District Qazis on Friday evening confirmed that both the Districts will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Sunday as the crescent moon was not sighted on Friday evening. This will mean both the Districts will now observe a full 30-day holy month of Ramadhan.

Bhatkal: 46 people who had arrived from Bengaluru towards Bhatkal on May 6, were intercepted by the Uttara Kannada District Administration at Murdeshwar about 13km away from their destination Bhatkal. They were made to quarantine at a Madrasa in Murdeshwar and all the services at the centre were managed and arranged socio-political organisation of Bhatkal, Majlis-e-Ishah wa Tanzeem.

Mangaluru: Taking the total number of COVID-19 cases in Dakshina Kannada to 62, a woman from Belthangady tested positive for the deadly virus.

Mangaluru: A 30-year old man originally hailing from Jharkhand was on Thursday night killed in a road mishap at Hejamadi here. According to the police, the person was killed after he fell off from the scooter on Thursday night.

Moodbidri: A person who had been put under quarantine in Kadandale in the taluk was found dead within two hours of sealing. The police have suspected it to be a suicide.
