The number of COVID-19 cases climbed to 2,301 in the country on Wednesday while the death toll rose to 56, according to the Union Health Ministry.

Mangaluru: Congress leader Mithun Rai on Thursday filed a petition in the Supreme Court, challenging the validity of Kerala High Court's order for opening the National Highway, connecting to Kasargod.

Kasargod: As many as eight people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the district on Thursday, taking the total tally of such cases to 128 in the district. With five cases in Idukki, two in Kollam, and one each in Thiruvananthapuram, Pattananthitta, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur today. In all Kerala reported 21 confirmed cases of COVID-19 today.

Mangauru: With the backdrop of the increasing coronavirus cases in the state of Kerala, the District Health and Family Welfare Department has issued a circular instructing not to admit any patients of Kerala in Dakshina Kannada district hospitals.

Mangaluru: Several additional restrictions have been imposed in accordance with Section 144 (3) imposed by the district administration for the prevention of coronavirus. All the fruit and vegetable wholesalers of the city's Central Market have been relocated to APMC Yard in Baikampady.

Mangaluru: Taking the total number of Corona Virus positive cases in Dakshina Kannada District to nine, another man from Puttur tested positive for the deadly virus on Wednesday here. The patient is reportedly a resident of Aryapu village in Puttur and had recently returned from Dubai.
