A man was arrested here for allegedly spreading malicious content and rumours on social media against government functionaries engaged in work against the coronavirus.

Bellary: In a heart wrenching incident, two persons died allegedly after not getting food in time due to the country-wide lockdown againt the spread of DCorona Virus, in Hospet town in Bellary District on Tuesday. Later, the dead bodies were allegedly transported on a garbage picking vehicle.

Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Sindhu B Rupesh on Tuesday evening informed that a person hailing from Sullia has reportedly tested positive for Corona Virus. The DC further informed that the person returned from Dubai.

Dakshina Kannada District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary on Tuesday announced that essential shops including grocery stores, fruits and vegetable shops will be allowed to open from Wednesday between 7:00 am to 12:00 pm across the District.

Kasargod: Seventeen new COVID-19 cases were reported in Kasargod, taking the total number of such patients in the district to 106, a health official said on Monday.

Puttur: Uppinangady Police on Monday booked a person for violating instructions of self-quarantine after he arrived from Dubai on March 21. The case was registered based on a complaint filed by Puttur Assistant Commissioner Dr. Yathish Ullal.
