Bengaluru: A Karnataka MLA on Thursday suggested "elephant foeticide" as he lamented about the sufferings caused to people and farmers in his constituency by the pachyderm menace.

The state minister for Muzrai & Haj and Wakf Shashikala Annasaheb Jolle said that the lessons of the Quran and Madrasas are not against the aspirations of the Indian constitution. In a written response to the question posed by Ravi Kumar in Karnataka legislative council, Shashikala stated it.
