In the wake of several violent incidents, including a murder, the Bengaluru Police Department has decided to ban all Ganesha idol processions and DJ dances in the city.

The case surrounding the "stolen" BMTC bus shelter on Cunningham Road has been resolved. It was revealed that the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) had removed the structure due to safety concerns and kept it at a stockyard, dispelling claims of theft.

Mysuru is bracing itself for a grand Dasara this year, with the Dasara air show making a comeback after a three year gap due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Alongside the air show, other attractions such as the famous ‘Jamboo Savari,’festival illuminations, a flower show, Yuva Dasara, and various cultural programmes are set to draw crowds.

 An individual reportedly pelted stones at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s residence in T.K Layout, Mysuru, on Tuesday morning.

Mysuru Police Commissioner B. Ramesh issued an order on Tuesday denying permission for both Mahisha Dasara and ‘Chamundi betta chalo’ celebrations citing possible threat to peace and order of the city.

 In an incident reported during the 'Ganesha Visarjana' procession at Prashanth Nagar Layout in Koppal town, a 30-year-old man, identified as Sudeep Sajjan, collapsed and died on Monday night. 

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday ordered the suspension of Anekal Tahsildar, a jurisdictional police inspector and the regional fire officer in the wake of the blaze at a cracker godown-cum-shop in the border town of Attibele in Bengaluru Urban district that claimed 14 lives.
