The ‘full term’ decision of the coalition government

We all are well aware of the fact that state has a coalition government. It would be partial truth to say this government came to this agreement because they wanted to keep BJP out of power.

Karnataka Bandh: A wrong step forward

Ironically enough, BJP staged a walk out on the very first assembly meet of the new government. The leader of opposition, Yeddyurappa was unable to provide an appropriate reason for his decision to stay out of this democratic process.

Another face of racism

Owing to misuse of social media, truth is traveling at a snail’s pace. People are blind to truth now. Hence, people get to know rumours faster than the truth. Rumours are more attractive over truth. Rumours for their part, gain wings no sooner they are spread and people love them too. They easily fall prey to those rumours started by miscreants.

Coastal Karnataka needs able leadership now

The JD(S) and Congress coalition government has come into existence. H D Kumaraswamy, a very down to earth person and an excellent politician has taken oath to the office of CM.

EVMs: Hero or villain?

When elections end, mostly all parties get into introspection mode to examine the reasons for their victory or loss. If the party has done badly, at least a few prominent leaders in vantage positions will be expected to resign. But today things have changed. The parties that have lost hardly introspect, and instead shift the entire blame on hacked EVMs and rest is easy.

Game not over yet

Projecting it as a political imbroglio, Yeddyurappa can always wonder whether he created his own ditch or fell into one dug by someone else.

The sellers and the buyers

There seems to be a small relief to the mega saga of politics that was unfolding in the state in the last few days. The move of the governor who invited BJP to form the government has come under question.

Will the state witness a rerun of 2008?

Looks like the time of political turmoil of 2008 is probably going to haunt us again. Yeddyurappa, who is now the chief minister of Karnataka and the lone member of his cabinet, took oath to the office of CM, wore the same metaphor of a green shawl around his shoulders as he had done when he became the CM for the first time in 2008.

Do not insult the constitution

In the recent past, some esteemed Judges had cautioned against the subverting of constitution and the powers granted by the constitution.

The slip between the cup and the lip

The current assembly election results were quite a surprise for many. The voters had not exhibited their inclination despite highly charged speeches by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the popularity of Siddaramaiah.
