Bantwal: A bike rider was grievously injured in a road accident at Moorje near Punjalkatte in the taluk on Tuesday, where a KSRTC bus collided with the motorbike.

Konkan Railways has collected more than Rs 1.95 crore as fine from as many as 6,675 passengers for traveling without tickets in December 2023, with the ticket checking system implemented recently in the trains to provide information to concerned authorities on such violations by passengers, the Konkan Railways officials have said, in a recent press release.
