AMP National Talent Search 2023 to provide scholarships to deserving students

Mangaluru: The Association of Muslim Professionals organization is all set to host its annual competitive National Talent Search examination. The exam which started in November 2020, was being held online for the past three years and will this year be hosted in dual mode (i.e both online and offline). While, in the last 3 years, over 1.5 lakh+ students from 600+ districts across India participated, this year, the organization expects 1 lakh+ Students from 650+ Districts across India to participate, making it the biggest competition in the Country.

Konkani Sahitya Academy: Roman Catholics, GSB get priority over other 40 communities

Mangaluru: The 'Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy,' established in 1994 to foster the growth of Konkani language, literature, art, and culture, is now approaching its third decade of existence. However, a significant imbalance is evident within the Academy, as the Konkani-speaking Roman Catholic (RC) and Gowda Saraswat Brahmin (GSB) communities dominate its ranks. In contrast, the remaining 40 communities that speak Konkani, and are consequently members of the Academy, are notably underrepresented, raising concerns about equal representation within the institution.

 

Elephant attack victim in Kadaba dies after month-long treatment

A man who had been grievously injured in a wild elephant attack on Konaje Road in Aittur village of Kadaba taluk a month ago and was under treatment in hospital till a few days ago died here at around dawn on Tuesday.
