Mangaluru: With eight more COVID-19 related deaths in the district on Friday, Dakshina Kannada breached the 100-mark of COVID-19 deaths. The district on Friday also recorded 180 new cases of the virus.

Dakshina Kannada: A boat carrying six fishermen capsized in the middle of the sea near Sasihitlu of Dakshina Kannada. This incident took place on Friday morning. However, all six of them were rescued from the tragedy.

Udupi: In what has taken the total number of death due to COVID-19 in Udupi District, a 59-year-old man succumbed to the virus on Thursday at Dr. TMA Pai Hospital here.

Mangaluru: Seven more patients being treated at private and government hospitals in the city succumbed to the virus on Thursday. With this, the district has neared the three-figure mark in total fatalities due to the virus. The total number of deaths in the district currently stands at 99.

Moodbidri: Authorities on Wednesday night sealed down Moodbidri Police Station after five of the police personnel posted at the station tested positive for Coronavirus.

Mangaluru/Bhatkal: Local businessman and philanthropist Muzaffar Kola passed away in a private hospital in Mangaluru on Wednesday evening.

Bhatkal: Following the instruction from Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa to District Administrations across the state of not extending lockdown in any part, Uttara Kannada District Administration on Wednesday lifted the partial lockdown in Bhatkal.
