Mangaluru: Hosamath Bridge, which is famous as the sinking Bridge, has again sunk following heavy rainfall here.

Bajpe police on Monday arrested six accused on charges of assaulting a man suspecting him as child lifter.

For the continuous rainfall, landslides were occurred at Shiradi Ghat on Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway.

Kodagu: In a shameful development, RSS workers have allegedly assaulted a group of women who were indulged in the rescue of flood victims of Kodagu. 

Total 2,336 houses were completely damaged in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. But the exact loss of property was not yet ascertained in Kodagu district due to rain-related incidents. 

“I am innocent. Suspecting that I am child lifter for having chocolates in my pocket, a group of 40 people tied me to a pole and assaulted me seriously”, said Hamza from Katipalla.

“It is our responsibility to help those who are distress and lost their loved ones and homes in the natural disaster in Kerala and Kodagu. So, everyone should come forward to help them by spending minimum for festival”, appealed Udupi, Chikmagaluru and Hassan districts Composite Khazi Maulana PM Ibrahim Musliyar Bekal.

A two-wheeler rider died on the spot when a car and his bike collided each other at Andinje in the taluk on Sunday.
