Shivamogga: BJP leader arrested for alleged rape, fraud

Sharath Kalyani, local BJP media department leader, has been taken into custody by the Shivamogga Women's Police Station following allegations of rape and fraud. The arrest came after a 43-year-old divorced woman, who works in a private company, lodged a complaint against Kalyani, accusing him of deceiving her into a relationship under the pretense of marriage.

 

Cab driver arrested for molesting woman during morning walk in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A 34-year-old woman was allegedly molested by a cab driver two days ago while she was waiting for a neigbhour to join her for a morning walk. The accused was arrested on Monday, police said. The incident which occurred at around 5 am on August 2 in Konanakunte police station limits of South Bengaluru was caught on CCTV camera of a house on the road, and it went viral on social media platforms, they said.

 

 

SIT files preliminary charge sheet in Karnataka Valmiki Corporation scam

Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the misappropriation of funds from the state-run Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribe Development Corporation has filed a preliminary charge sheet mentioning the arrest of 12 people and the seizure of Rs 49.96 crore in the case, police said on Monday.
