The Karnataka High Court has directed the Puttur Rural police not to take any coercive action against RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat in connection with a hate speech case registered against him.

A biker was killed on the spot in an accident on National Highway 66 stretch near KG Road, Uppoor, after a truck ran over the rider who fell on the road on Friday morning.

Urva Police have arrested a long-absconding accused in a 29-year-old double murder case that took place within the limits of the Urva Police Station. The arrested man is a member of the notorious Dandupalya gang.

Former Rector and Principal of St Aloysius College Fr Leo D’Souza SJ passed away at the Father Muller’s Hospital in the city on Tuesday. He was 93.
