Terrible accident in Kokkada: Two die on spot

Two passengers were killed on the spot in the crash between a car and a bus at around 9:30 pm near Kokkada village within the limits of the Uppinangady police station.

The deceased have been identified as Dinesh P (32), son of Veerappa Malekudi, a resident of Dharmasthala; and Sandesh (30), a resident of Dharmasthala.

The police have lodged a case against three persons in connection with the murder of CPM activist Abubakar Siddique of Somkalu.

The investigating team led by Kasaragod DySP MV Sukumaran has filed a case against three accused, including BJP activist Ashwath.

A rear tyre of a lorry carrying cement from Tumkur to Udupi exploded. Suddenly, the driver the lorry parked the vehicle on the roadside. Suddenly fire broke out in the burst tyre. Suddenly the fire brigade of Udupi was informed.

Bandiyod : Boy stabbed to death by classmate

A clash between two classmates ended up in the murder of one boy at Adka near Bandiyod on Sunday.

The victim is identified as Mohammad Midlaz(13) of Adka. The incident happened at 8.15 am. Verbal dual started between them. At this time, his classmate stabbed Midlaz injuring him seriously. Though he was rush d to a private hospital at Bandiyod, he breathed his last.

Minister Zameer provides free bus service to Hajjis from Mangaluru to Bengaluru

As there was no bus facility for Hajjis to reach Bengaluru from Mangaluru to leave for Madina, Minister Zameer Ahmed arranged free bus facility to the pilgrims in his own expense. This gesture of the minister attracted good appreciation.
