HOPE Foundation & Bakers Treat in collaboration with Food Bloggers launches the '1000 Book Project'.

Social service organisation  HOPE Foundation and Bakers Treat Mangaluru in collaboration with some Food Bloggers  has launched a unique initiative '1000 Book Project' with the slogan Jab Padega India tho Badega India on Wednesday . The idea of this project is to collect books from donors and send it to rural schools in India.


15 houses submerged as Kumaradhara River swells in Subrahmanya

As heavy rains continue lashing Dakshina Kannada, Kumaradhara River and its sub river Darpan Teertha are flowing above danger mark. Due to which, many low-lying areas have been marooned. Many homes, agricultural farms have been inundated. The Tahsildar has declared a holiday for all the schools today.

Schools declared holiday in Bantwal, Sullia taluks

The Tehsildar has ordered to declare a holiday on August 16, for all the schools in the Bantwal and Sulya taluks following heavy rainfall.

Heavy rain in Kasaragod: Many families shifted

As the Chandragiri river is in full spate due to heavy rains in the district, around 25 per cent of families living down-stream were shifted to safe places. The low-lying areas in Korakkodu were marooned in the flood water. Fire brigade, revenue department and police department have shifted the families.

Lineman electrocuted at Sullia

A lineman was electrocuted while repairing an electric pole at Boliamajalu near here on Wednesday.

Mangaluru-Bengaluru route Volvo, Rajahamsa bus service suspended

The KSRTC authorities said that all Volvo and Rajahamsa bus service between Mangaluru and Bengaluru route was suspended following heavy rains in the region. KSRTC red buses would ply on Charmadi Ghat road to Bengaluru.
